Review FAQ
I read an ARC. Should I put that in my review?
Yes. Talk about it at the beginning of your review, but it doesn’t need to be detailed. You just need to mention two things: that you got the ARC copy and that reviewing is your choice. Feel free to copy this phrasing:
I received an ARC of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I know you LA! Should I put that in my review?
Yeah, fam. Looking at you… Mom…
Feel free to copy this phrasing:
Full disclosure, I am LA’s ***.
My review has low stars, but I know that hurts your brand. What do I do?
Every review, no matter how many stars, is important. Readers with your same preferences shouldn’t pick my books up. That’s a fact, and life is too short to pretend otherwise.
State openly what you didn’t like, and be sure to include an explanation of why it didn’t work. One reader’s ick is another reader’s top trope.
