The Fangs and Fur Beta Read Along is a brand new journey for me in my authoring. I’ve posted weekly content before, but never with the intention of carrying over between planned publications, like how this week’s chapter blends volume 1 and volume 2 of the series together.
My goal with this serial has always been to deliver quality, consistent short-form content. “Escapism that’s easy to keep up with.” I knew I couldn’t keep that promise if I had a long gap between chapters because I paused the beta read along for each installment’s individual publication. So, if you’ll allow a Thanksgiving metaphor, I’m treating the beta as one long practice dinner, and I’ll be publishing the same story later as a three-course meal, with a couple special new side dishes.
There’s no denying that this decision is risky. It is easier than ever for bad actors to pirate content, especially with the power of AI. I’m still choosing to maintain the integrity of this beta reading experience rather than protecting the IP with a paywall. There are a lot of reasons why, but the most important one is that is what I have promised you.
I will have to take the beta down on the day the volumes go off for publishing. Until then, though, I hope we can enjoy all its “practice dinner” glory. Bon apétit!
