Last month I asked you wonderful readers for your feedback about the titling for my series moving forward. If you don’t remember, it was about changing all the titles to end in the word “Song.” Thank you so much for sharing your opinions with me!
I may officially announce that the poll resulted in a tie. Half for, and half against. Full disclosure, I did stop collecting data two weeks after the poll went out in the newsletter, so any late-late votes didn’t count.
So, I gave the deciding vote to my furry overlord. Who promptly abstained. She returned her vote unmarked and with contempt. She added a reminder for my benefit that unless it’s to commune with her adoring masses, she’s not obliged to offer more than oversight and snuggles during my working hours.
So, I made the call. “Song” they shall be!
I’ve made this decision because my gut says it’s the future-forward choice. I’ve always said that though Harmony ends in this series, this story is just the beginning.
I am keeping in mind the details that some of you noted. For example, my proposal for book 3, “Scar Song,” did not feel right for all of you. So, here are the final titles:
EARTH SONG | BLOOD SONG | SPIRIT SONG | TIDE SONG | MOON SONG
Now that this titling decision has been finalized, it’s on to covers. I can’t wait to see the rest of the series with proper art the way these stories deserve. Hopefully, I’ll be able to share more about that next month, but for now, I’m powering through the home stretch on edits. Only a few more months and the end of the series will be in your hands…
