The last time I wrote to you here, I shared my great scheduling setbacks and persistent optimism about my goals for the Harmony universe in 2024. I’m thrilled to say that, so far, my plans are still on track!
The only thing holding me back right this second are my titles.
Committing to a title for book 4 has sent me down a rabbit hole of circling questions, creative thinking, and intentional planning. I realized while I love my chosen titles, they don’t fit so well with my future plans for the Harmony universe.
My entire magic system and most of my world building are grounded in music. It’s one of the features about this world that keeps me hooked no matter what other distracting stories flit across my mind.
In line with this fact, I’m considering changing the titles for books 2-4 to match the pattern established by books 1 and 5: ____ Song. It fits. I like it. It makes sense for the Harmony universe at large.
These are my current proposals:
| Earth Song | ✔︎ | Earth Song |
| Blood Shield | ➡︎ | Blood Song |
| Wing Strike | ➡︎ | Scar Song |
| Spirit Sound | ➡︎ | Tide Song |
| Moon Song | ✔︎ | Moon Song |
What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear your opinion! You can take the poll below or send me an email, whatever’s best for you.
I’ll share the results of the poll and subsequent decisions with you all in a new post. I’ll make sure to put it in the next newsletter, too.
Titles aside, there is good news to celebrate! Storm Claw is available in its brand new cover from Mibl Art. There are some minor updates to the back matter and fixed typos, but the behind the new art is the same story you love.
So what about the rest of the series?
I don’t want to leave you hanging, so these are my plans…
| Earth Song | August 4, 2024 |
| Book 2 | September 2, 2024 |
| Book 3 | October 2, 2024 |
| Book 4 | November 1, 2024 |
| Moon Song | December 21, 2024 |
As long as I meet all my editing and proofing deadlines, there should be no problem with these release dates. Moon Song is the only draft still undergoing major revisions, but the effort is so worth it. I love happy endings… but I love happy endings more when they are earned through struggle and strife. Prepare to cry sad and sweet tears in equal measure!
And with that, back to editing. Hope you’re keeping warm with a good book handy!
